Club Fitting
Custom-fitted golf sets or individual clubs are available based on personal specifications from the brands Mizuno, TaylorMade, Titleist and Ping.
Please note: Concerned about paying too much for a new set? The best prices available in the market are offered. If the same set is found elsewhere at a better price, simply let the professionals know and they will always try to match it.
The clubs available in shops are based on standard specifications. If a player does not adapt the set to personal specifications, the clubs will never truly feel like their own. It is ultimately the combination of player and equipment that enables optimal performance.
When having clubs fitted, it is important that this is done by an experienced and professional club fitter. The club fitter will test several variables before providing advice:
Shaft Length
The correct shaft length ensures that the ball is struck consistently on the clubface. It also allows the player to maintain a natural swing arc without needing to adjust the swing in order to strike the ball effectively.
Lie Angle
This is the angle between the shaft and the clubhead. When correctly adjusted, the clubhead will strike the ground evenly in the centre. If the angle is too upright, it may cause a hooked ball flight. If it is too flat, it may lead to a slice.
Shaft Flex
The flexibility of the shaft influences ball flight, direction, distance and consistency. During the swing the shaft bends until the moment of impact. If the flex is not properly matched to the player, it can significantly affect the ball flight.
Shaft Type
There are many types of shafts on the market, each with different characteristics such as flex, kick point (where the shaft bends), swing weight and, in graphite shafts, torsion (torque). All of these factors influence both ball flight and the feel at impact.
Grip Size
The correct grip size helps the player return the clubface to a square position during the backswing and rotate the hands properly through impact. Players can also choose from different grip types to achieve the most comfortable feel.
Clubhead Type
Different types of clubheads can have a corrective effect. With the MOI (Moment of Inertia) system it is possible to determine which clubhead type offers the best corrective performance. This system is often used for higher handicappers and produces excellent results.
Set Composition
Modern club designs, such as hybrids, allow greater flexibility in composing a set. A set may include multiple wedges, a selection of irons and several hybrid clubs. Many combinations are possible and can be tailored to personal preference.
With so many variables involved in assembling a set, it is almost impossible for anyone other than a professional to determine the correct combination.
Club fitting is offered online as well as in many golf shops. However, it is important to keep in mind that not all variables are always taken into account. This may result in a set that ultimately does not provide the feel expected. When clubs feel right, confidence increases — and that confidence can influence performance almost as much as the correctly fitted set itself.

Why should grips be replaced from time to time?
Many golfers do not realise that replacing a grip is a relatively simple adjustment that can have a significant influence on scoring.
There are three main reasons to replace grips:
The correct grip size helps maintain proper control of the club at the top of the backswing. A grip that is too small may cause the clubface to close too early, resulting in a hooked ball flight. A grip that is too thick may leave the clubface open at impact, which can lead to a slice.
New clubs are usually supplied with standard grip sizes, but not every golfer has standard-sized hands. It is therefore important to know which grip size suits best. A golf professional can easily measure this.
Worn grips reduce the chances of a good shot. When grips are worn, the club may slip in the hands, causing the player to grip tighter and increasing tension in the forearms. A golfer who plays regularly should consider replacing grips once a year.
Good grips contribute to better scores.
When should grips be replaced?
If grips feel smooth, hard, or begin to leave black marks on the hands, or if small cracks appear, it is time to replace them.
The replacement interval does not only depend on the age of the grips, but also on weather conditions, how frequently one plays, whether rings are worn and how firmly the club is gripped.
Replacing grips is relatively inexpensive compared to replacing other parts of a golf set. Grips can usually be replaced within one day, provided they are in stock.
Several grip models are available for viewing in the shop. Preferred grips can also be explored on the following websites:
